Career[]
Waco O'Guin started his career, making appearances on The Howard Stern Show, alongside Roger Black, who would usually play the character of Yucko the Clown.
Waco O'Guin and Roger Black would co-create the sketch comedy, Stankervision, which debuted on MTV on July 8th, 2005. The live-action segments of the series were filmed in Athens, Georgia. A recurring animated segment of the show was called "Inebriated the Koala", a cartoon about a drunken koala aptly named "Inebriated" (voiced by Waco), which was written by Waco. The series only ran for 1 season, consisting of 5 episodes and ended its run on January 26th, 2006.
Waco O'Guin and Roger Black got jobs at Comedy Central, where they were given their first animated TV series; Brickleberry. Brickleberry premiered on September 25th, 2012 and ran for 3 seasons, consisting of 36 episodes, before it got cancelled and ended its run on April 14th, 2015. On top of co-creating and writing for the show, Waco would also voice act for the character, Bobby Possumcods, alongside Roger Black, who voiced Bobby's friend, BoDean Lynn. These two characters were somewhat intended to be self-inserts of the two creators, as they would act just like Roger and Waco in their day to day lives. Having author avatars like this in the show would be a tradition that would be carried on in their future animated projects.
Waco O'Guin and Roger Black would later get new jobs working at Netflix, creating the new show, Paradise PD, which would be their second animated series. In the show, Waco and Roger voice acted for Robby and Delbert, respectively, who served the same purpose in the show as Bobby and BoDean served in the previous show. Paradise P.D. aired on August 31st, 2018 and ran for 4 seasons, consisting of 40 episodes, concluding on December 16th, 2022, again, due to cancellation. According to Waco, Netflix didn't tell them they were cancelled, until after they completed writing for the show's fourth season, leading to the show ending on a cliffhanger. Around this time, Roger and Waco had signed a multi-year partnership with Netflix, making it clear that even though Paradise PD was over, their days of creating content for the company were far from over.
Following the signing of their multi-year partnership with Netflix, Waco and Roger also created a second animated series for the service, and their third animated series overall, this being Farzar, which premiered on July 15th, 2022. In the show, Waco and Roger voice acted for Flobby and Belzert, respectively, again being respective stand-ins for Bobby/Robby and BoDean/Delbert.
